About us

Excellent wine generates enthusiasm.  And whatever you do with enthusiasm is generally successful.

Philippe de Rothschild

The Space Coast Wine Guild, founded in 2002, is an organization of home winemakers and wine enthusiasts who encourage the appreciation of wine and the art of amateur winemaking.  Most of our Wine Club members are from Melbourne, Palm Bay, Rockledge, or the beaches in east-central Florida.

Meetings

One not only drinks wine, one smells it, observes it, tastes it, sips it and – one talks about it.

King Edward VII, of England

Meetings are held at the David R. Schechter Center, 1089 South Patrick Dr., Satellite Beach, FL on the 4th Thursday of the month.  Occasionally we meet at alternate locations, so please check the calendar for special events.  The meetings start at 7:00 with pot-luck hor'dourves.  Bring a favorite appetizer and bottle of wine to share, along with a wine glass.  Also, we have a raffle each week, so if you have a little item to donate, please bring it, too.  A typical meeting follows:

6:45 - Early arrivers help setup tables and chairs.  We begin opening the homemade and commercial wines as they are brought, for the group to share.

7:00 - As a quorum gathers, wines and appetizers are shared.  Donated raffle items are displayed and raffle tickets are sold.

7:30 - The President calls the meeting to order.  Guests are introduced.  The Secretary reads the minutes from the prior meeting.  The Treasurer reports on any financial activity.  Old and new business is addressed.  And, we typically cover a special topic each month.  It may relate to wine making, wine tasting, food pairings, aromas, or anything else!

8:30 - Socializing and cleanup

It's a lot of fun...  We hope to see you there!
