Space Coast Wine Guild Meeting Minutes

Attendance:                    19

Our May meeting got off to a start at 7:40 p.m. with President, Donnie Nettles, officiating.  The minutes of the April meeting and April Club Picnic were read and accepted.  Kathy Snavely presented the Treasurer’s report for April.

Guests for the evening were Bob and Margaret Grassman.  Bob is Susan Dahl’s brother.

Old Business: 

Donna presented the information on T-shirts that Terri Johnson has found.  Donna suggested the executive board get together to make a decision on having T-shirts ordered and an imprint or logo.

The wine competition is in June.  Betty Nettles reminded everyone to get their wines ready for judging. 

Bill Snavely has been hard at work with updating the web site.  There are still a few snags that he has run into, but in all it is looking more up to date.

New Business:

Betty Nettles announced that there would be an article in the Senior Life Magazine, June issue, on the club and the Nettles.  This came about from Donna noticing that the magazine listed various clubs in the area.  After calling to see about being listed under the clubs, we were being interviewed by phone!  Hopefully, it will bring some notice to the club.

A motion was made to close the meeting as we were all anxious to watch Chef Bob whip up our treat, Bananas Foster.  The Nettles supplied a Late Harvest Vignoles to add, but Chef Bob also tried using Donnie & Betty’s strawberry wine.  Both batches tasted yummy!  The purpose was to incorporate wine in a dessert that normally requires rum and other high alcohol liquors.  Chef Bob always has some pretty interesting tales to tell us while he cooks!  I wonder what he will make next time.
