Space Coast Wine Guild Meeting Minutes

The meeting was brought to order at 7:40 p.m.  Minutes of the March meeting were read and accepted as is.  The treasurer’s report was presented by Kathy Snavely.

Old Business:

The boat trip was first postphoned because the boat was taken away for cosmetic repairs.  The captain took the boat on a windy day and hit a piling as well as another boat which really damaged the boat.  Therefore, the scheduled club boat trip was canceled.  It is possible that a fall trip could be scheduled.

In regard to the web site, Bill Snavely did communicate with Mitch and has the application for the next year which will have to be paid.  Bill is trying to figure things out with the web site and will try to get some things posted.

New Business:

The Nettles visit to Mitch and  Rita Patterson and their visit to the Hilton Head Wine Fest, which took place March 11.  Mitch and Rita thought it would be a great week end trip for the club members to go to the Wine Fest next year.  Rita can be of help in coordinating rooms, possibly tickets, etc.  If several members would like to go, we can either rent a van or try to reserve a bus, which would be about $700.  The festival takes place on a Saturday afternoon so driving back in the same day is not suggested.  More on this later.

Terri Johnson’s friend, Fred. would like someone to come pick his ruby red grapefruit in exchange for a bottle of wine.  Terri’s youngest daughter works for a silk screen company, Logo Tech, and can get us T-shirts if we can come up with a logo or at least decide on something to put on the shirt. 

Betty Nettles reminded members of the May meeting cooking demo.  Bob Mittauer will be with us gain.  Also, the club annual wine competition will be in June.  Get your wines ready for competition!

A motion to close the meeting was made by Terri Johnson and seconded by Bill Snavely.
